US Army Vietnam SPECIAL FORCES ADVISOR BADGED MULTI-STITCH COWBOY BUSH HAT Vtg
US Army Special Forces advisors deployed to Vietnam in the early 1960s in uniforms unsuited for the vicious guerrilla war awaiting them. They were allowed great leeway in their choice of uniforms and headgear, leading many to wear custom multi-stitch “cowboy” style bush hats, usually acquired from local Vietnamese sources. This US Army Vietnam SPECIAL FORCES ADVISOR BADGED MULTI-STITCH “COWBOY” BUSH HAT is in very good condition, with a small spot of edge fraying at the middle left front brim, some scattered small spots of fraying around the top crown, some loose stitching and edge chipping to the right side of the “VIET-NAM” arc at the right brim, some dusting and “browning” around the exterior, some scattered fraying to the chinstrap, some edge curling to the size tag inside, and with some scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the hat is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough OD 100% cotton construction. Most interestingly, it’s a Size 57 (US Size 7 1/8), crafted in the classic French influenced multi-stitch design, and bears the original “VIET-NAM” plastic covered printed paper arc at the darkened metal “snap-up” right brim. It sports the traditional two round screened metal ventilation grommets at each side of the crown, denoting in-country (Vietnamese) manufacture, features the original black plastic sweatband, and is complete with the original knotted light OD cotton chinstrap. A fine example of a very rare, original US Army Vietnam SPECIAL FORCES ADVISOR BADGED MULTI-STITCH “COWBOY” BUSH HAT. 2 WW2 CASE EK WESTERN OSS KNIFE REFERENCE BOOK in near mint, unread condition, boasting an elegantly illustrated dust jacket over hardcovers, and sporting 676 pages. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Militaria\Vietnam (1961-75)\Original Period Items\Hats & Helmets”. The seller is “abramsantiques” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped worldwide.

Early Vietnam War POW Document grouping with original hand written and typed copies of the “Summary of Events and personal account – SFC Quinn and Sergeant Groom Capture and subsequent release by Viet Cong, period 7 April – 1 May 1962″ to Chief Combined Studies Branch Headquarters, MAAG, from Captain L. The grouping also includes hand drawn maps and a cut Stars & Stripes article. This is a pretty amazing primary source document describing the capture and release of two U. Army Special Forces Advisors pre Gulf of Tonkin incident / American Escalation. Everything has flaws, some of the papers are fragile, but considering it’s all paper, it’s in decent shape. Please look at the photos to better judge condition for yourself. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Militaria\Vietnam (1961-75)\Original Period Items\Documents”.
